Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said the government was very concerned about the needs of the people and would try to provide them the best infrastructure facilities.

“Tan Sri Bernard Dompok and I have requested the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for the Lok Kawi-Sindumin road to be upgraded".

“In this regard, the Prime Minister had directed the Works Minister, Datuk Seri Shaziman Abu Mansor to conduct a study and now it is in the design stage,” Anifah said during a dinner with retired civil servants, teachers, police personnel from the Kimanis Parliamentary Constituency which was held at the Le Meridien Hotel here Saturday night.

“As the Kimanis Member of Parliament and leader, I will assist the people in the best possible way,” he said.
“I am not a perfect human being and therefore it is not possible for me to carry out all responsibilities without the support of the people,” he stressed.

Apart from his role as the people’s representative for the Kimanis Parliamentary Constituency, Anifah said he also has to perform other responsibilities for the nation.

“There are 105 Foreign Offices throughout the world. I have given instruction to officers and ambassadors overseas to contact me directly when something happens,” he said.

He said the people in this country were very fortunate compared with citizens of other foreign countries that he had visited so far.

“I have been to 90 countries all over the world and I dare say that we are very special people on this earth because our country is peaceful and our economy is very sound compared with other foreign countries.

“For example, the American economy is on the slide, Europe is faced with financial crisis, and the Middle East and North Africa are in turbulence. However, in Malaysia, we enjoy independence under the leadership of past and present prime ministers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Anifah made a personal donation of RM200,000 to the Kimanis Youth Cooperative and Kimanis Education Fund to help those in need.

“I am providing funds for students who are in dire need of assistance as education is a very important matter.
“I am giving RM100,000 to the Kimanis Youth Cooperative to help youths interested in taking up business,” he said.

In addition, Anifah also provided RM20,000 each to ex-policemen, ex-teachers and ex-civil servants associations in the Kimanis Parliamentary Constituency.
