Pencapaian UPSR 2012 bagi Sabah meningkat

Pencapaian pelajar Sabah dalam peperiksaan Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) 2012 meningkat dari tahun lepas.

Pengarah Pelajaran Negeri Sabah, Datuk Dr. Haji Muhiddin Yusin, berkata untuk tahun ini seramai 1,035 pelajar mendapat A dalam semua mata pelajaran di seluruh Sabah berbanding 1,018 pada 2011.

Muhiddin membuat pengumuman Keputusan UPSR 2012 Peringkat Negeri itu di Sekolah Kebangsaan Pekan Keningau II untuk pertama kalinya dianjurkan yang menggabungkan empat buah daerah iaitu Tambunan, Keningau, Nabawan dan Tenom.

Menurut beliau prestasi pencapaian keseluruhan dalam semua mata pelajaran bagi tahun 2012 meningkat kepada 8.66 peratus dari 6.91 peratus pada tahun 2011.

Katanya, terdapat sedikit penurunan daripada pencapaian penguasaan A, B, dan C bagi mata pelajaran Bahasa Melayu di Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) dan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC).

”Namun begitu, seramai 1035 calon berjaya mencatat pencapaian penguasaan A bagi semua mata pelajaran yang diambil meningkat secara keseluruhannya berbanding 1018 calon pada tahun 2011,” katanya.

Beliau berkata pencapaian UPSR bagi daerah di pedalaman Tambunan mencapai peratusan tertinggi dengan pencapaian 55.84 peratus pada tahun ini berbanding dengan 51.41 peratus pada 2011 diikuti dengan Keningau iaitu 53.99 peratus bagi tahun 2012 berbanding 47.73 pada tahun lepas.

Nabawan bakal pengeluar lada hitam

Daerah Nabawan bakal menjadi pengeluar lada hitam jika tanaman yang diperkenalkan oleh Lembaga Lada Malaysia (MPB) menjadi kenyataan pada suatu hari nanti.

Pembantu Menteri Pertanian dan Industri Makanan Sabah, Datuk Bobbey A Suan, berkata tanaman yang diperkenalkan di daerah ini mampu menjana pendapatan lumayan kepada bakal pengusaha tanaman lada hitam di daerah ini.

Katanya, penanaman lada hitam yang diperkenalkan di daerah ini dan Negeri Sabah amnya satu lagi langkah kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) untuk mengeluarkan rakyat dari belenggu kemiskinan khususnya bagi mereka yang berminat menjadi usahawan lada hitam.

“Ini merupakan projek pertanian yang baru, tidak seperti lada atau cili biasa ditanam dan diusahakan petani kerana jangka hayat tanaman lada hitam adalah lama iaitu sehingga 20 tahun dan pendapatan mencapai puluhan dan ratusan ribu, oleh itu rakyat digalakkan untuk mencuba dan menanamnya,” katanya pada majlis taklimat penanaman lada hitam di Dewan Belia KBSS di sini pada Jumaat.

Kira-kira 100 peserta terdiri dari golongan belia dan orang awam menyertai taklimat tersebut yang dikendalikan dua orang pegawai MPB iaitu Spencer Sandai dan Elvis Madun yang menyampaikan ceramah bertajuk kaedah penanaman lada hitam dan insentif dari lembaga lada Malaysia kepada pengusaha tanaman berkenaan.

Bobbey turut menyarankan agar penduduk di daerah ini mengamibl kesempatan ini untuk mencuba tanaman baru ini.

MDS kuatkuasa peraturan Anti Kutu Sampah

Menteri Di Jabatan Ketua Menteri, Datuk Sri Haji Nasir Tun Sakaran mengajak semua masyarakat dan penduduk memainkan peranan masing-masing sentiasa menjaga kebersihan kawasan pekan dan kampung.

Katanya dengan pelaksanaan Undang-Undang Anti Kutu Sampah yang dikuatkuasa oleh Majlis Daerah Semporna (MDS) mampu mendidik serta mendisiplinkan masyarakat betapa pentingnya keutamaan kebersihan kawasan pekan dan kediaman.

Nasir berkata, kebersihan itu merupakan sebahagian daripada iman dan gambaran amalan kehidupan sesebuah masyarakat.

Selain itu katanya, agama Islam sangat menekankan kebersihan, baik kebersihan fisik mahu pun batin.

Justeru itu, kita berharap dengan pelancaran program ini masyarakat akan memberi kerjasama menjaga kebersihan dan tidak membuang sampah merata tempat.

Beliau berkata demikian sempena pelancaran Anti Kutu Sampah anjuran Pedabat Daerah dan Majlis Daerah Semporna.

Hadir sama Pegawai Daerah Semporna, A.M. Ibnu A.K. Baba; Pegawai Eksekutif Majlis Daerah, Haji Jaafar Ahmad dan pemimpin tempatan, ahli-ahli Majlis Daerah Semporna (MDS) dan kakitangan kerajaan negeri dan persekutuan.

Sempena majlis itu seramai 13 orang Duta Anti Kutu Sampah membaca ikrar dan mengangkat sumpah akan melaksanakan tugas serta tanggungjawab dengan penuh amanah dan dedikasi.

Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day sales doubled

The state-level Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen Day celebration this year recorded a sale of around RM2 million, doubled than that of last year.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Yahya Hussin said the targeted number of visitors was 50,000 and the five-day event could have achieved 100,000 visitors if it were not for the rains.

Yahya, who is also the Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, said in this in an interview after officiating at the closing ceremony of the celebration yesterday.

He suggested his ministry submit a proposal to the State Government for a bigger site, not only for the celebration, but also serves as a market for farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen.

Yahya said the celebration was becoming bigger year after year, with the operators and farmers being more developed.

Hence, a specialized place such as the one used by Farmers, Breeders and Fishermen’s Day, Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (Maha) in Serdang, Selangor was needed.

Tema Maal Hijrah perlu dihayati: Musa

Ketua Menteri, Datuk Seri Musa Aman berkata, sambutan Maal Hijrah pada tahun ini yang bertemakan ‘Wasatiyyah Tonggak Kesatuan Ummah’ perlu dihayati dengan memfokuskan kepada usaha memantapkan perpaduan dan penyatuan ummah dengan pendekatan sederhana yang relevan dan sesuai dengan tuntutan semasa terutamanya dalam konteks masyarakat majmuk di Malaysia.

Katanya, pemantapan ukhuwah dan kesatuan ummah akan menyumbang kekuatan ummah yang boleh menunjangi pembangunan sesebuah negara.

“Apa yang pasti, kejayaan membangunkan sesebuah negara yang memiliki pelbagai bangsa dan agama seperti negara kita memerlukan penyertaan dan komitmen daripada seluruh lapisan rakyat,” kata Musa dalam ucapannya di Majlis Perhimpunan Sambutan Maal Hijrah Peringkat Negeri 1434H/2012M, di Wisma Muis, di sini, kelmarin.

Katanya, hal ini bagi menjamin perkongsian manfaat pembangunan dinikmati secara saksama oleh semua bangsa dan agama, sekaligus mengelakkan berlakunya perbalahan yang boleh meruntuhkan benteng perpaduan di kalangan masyarakat majmuk.

“Sesuai dengan gagasan ‘1Malaysia’ yang telah diperkenalkan oleh Y.A.B Perdana Menteri dan menjadi amalan dan tradisi kita di Sabah selama ini, ia menyediakan ruang untuk seluruh rakyat, tanpa mengira kaum dan agama, menyumbang dan berbakti untuk kesejahteraan, dan kemakmuran negara,” katanya.

Gagasan ini juga berupaya membentuk kesepakatan dan semangat keharmonian bagi memantapkan lagi perpaduan rakyat, katanya.

Sabah government hands over RM30.9 Million to schools, non-muslim religious bodies

The Sabah government on Friday handed over funds totalling RM30.9 million to 140 non-Islamic religious bodies and 266 schools including Chinese independent and mission schools in the state.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the religious bodies including churches, Chinese temples and other non-Muslim places of worship will collectively receive a sum of RM18 million while schools have been allocated RM12.9 million.

“Of the above sum, non-Islamic religious organisation in the West Coast, Kudat and interior regions will receive RM14.5 million while similar bodies in Sandakan and Tawau are allocated RM3.6 million.

Schools in the West Coast, Kudat and interior regions will get RM9.2 million and those allocated in Sandakan and Tawau will receive a sum of RM3.8 million,” he said at the presentation of cheques to the schools and religious bodies at the State Assembly building, here.

SP Setia allocates RM1,000 per child for tuition or textbooks

More than 200 needy primary pupils who were selected as part of SP Setia Foundation’s Adoption programme in Sabah will be able to continue their studies more comfortably now.

The adoption programme provides an annual allocation of RM1,000 for each pupil.

Year Three pupil Tan Eng Hong said he was happy to be chosen as a participant.

“My father is a lorry driver while my mother is a housewife, so I’m sure this will be able to help lessen my parents’ burden,” he said, adding that he would study hard to continue enjoying the assistance from SP Setia.

Meanwhile, single mother Erna Omar, 36, said she was shocked and reluctant to let her son be part of the programme until the teachers explained it to her.

“I thought the adoption programme meant I would have to give up my child, but it appeared that my child will only be assisted for the purpose of education, so I am glad the foundation is kind enough to help the poor Sabah people,” she said.

SP Setia Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the programme, which started in the peninsula in 2000, provided RM1,000 to selected pupils for their tuition or textbooks.

“We start from primary pupils and if they perform excellently in the UPSR, the foundation will continue to assist them through their high school up to tertiary level,” he said.

Emphasis on education, public support in fight against corruption

Education and public support will be the focus of the Government Transformation Program (GTP) 2.0 National Key Result Area (NKRA) against corruption.

“This is because these two elements play important roles in the fight against corruption,” the division’s director, Datuk Hisham Nordin, said.

Speaking to reporters at a briefing with non-governmental organizations in Sabah, Hisham said the division did not place much focus on the elements of education and public support in the initial GTP.

“We have taken into consideration the success in Hong Kong and other countries which have placed emphasis on education and the public,” he said.

Hisham stressed that in preventing corruption, public support was one of the greatest elements (to its success) as it would ensure that the public would be more aware and better educated in matters concerning corruption offences.

“One of the programs the division will be implementing is a training for members of parliament where we will stress to the elected representatives about ethical values, the do’s and don’ts or moral values because there are certain things that could be legally right but not morally, resulting in the lack of confidence the rakyat may have on politicians,” he said.

According to Hisham, the training would be held at the next parliamentary session, and added: “God willing, if it is successful, we will extend it to state assemblymen and also politicians in the country.

When asked about the achievements of the NKRA against corruption, Hisham said the biggest one they scored was to be able to settle about 700 backlogged court cases within three years.

Fed Govt upgraded a total of 14.6km rural roads costing RM22.42mil

The Federal Government has upgraded a total of 14.6km stretch of rural roads at a cost of RM22.42 million for the Batu Sapi Parliamentary coustituency in 2010 until 2012.

The government continues to provide a complete infrastructure to rural communities and ensuring that the people enjoy the facilities and that it will continue to implement basic infrastructure projects in rural areas under the NKRA involving Rural Road Projects, Rural Water and Electricity Supply.

The Minister of Rural and Regional Development said this in reply to a question from MP for Batu Sapi, Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin at the Parliament Third Meeting; the Fifth Session of the Twelfth Parliament recently.

Datin Linda has asked the Minister to state the action to be taken in order to upgrade the infrastructure and basic amenities in Batu Sapi Parliamentary constituency since the area is semi-rural and lacked basic infrastructure and amenities such as a bridge by the sea-side, village roads, solar power electricity and water supply.

According to the Minister, in that same period, the Government had implemented two Rural Water Supply projects worth RM930,000 in the Batu Sapi Parliamentary constituency which benefited 270 houses to have 24 hours access to clean water.

Sabah suspends Ayamas imports

Sabah too has temporarily suspended importation of Ayamas poultry products following revelation by Sarawak’s veterinary authority that a banned antibiotic was detected in a sample of the brand’s chicken frankfurter.

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin in confirming this yesterday said the Department of Veterinary Services and Animal Industry Sabah (DOVSAI) had immediately issued a directive to all operators in the state not to import and sell some of the Ayamas products suspected to be contaminated.

“We have taken the necessary precautionary measures, which is to ban the products from being imported to Sabah,” he told reporters when asked whether the ministry had received any call from worried consumers in the state to take Ayamas products off the market.

Yahya, who did not reveal the list of Ayamas products that were suspended, said the ban would be enforced until the Ministry of Health had completed its investigation and cleared the products in question.

He added that apart from the federal ministry, the state had also conducted its own sampling and inspection through DOVSAI to ensure that all the products involved were free of any banned substances and safe for consumption.

“The authorities are dealing with the issue and necessary actions have been taken, including a thorough inspection of Ayamas products,” he said.

Reports last week said Sarawak had issued an import ban on the brand and some of its chicken products were taken out of supermarkets following a detection of chloramphenicol.

Ayamas Food Corporation Sdn Bhd however said it did not use the substance or any banned antibiotics in its products and had expressed surprise over the suspension.

Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Musa Aman berkata, Heart of Borneo atau Nadi Borneo bertujuan memelihara dan mengurus ekosistem rentas sempadan membabitkan tiga negara Asean iaitu Malaysia, Indonesia dan Brunei Darussalam meliputi kawasan kira-kira 22 juta hektar.

Beliau berkata, Borneo adalah pulau ketiga terbesar di dunia yang kaya dengan biodiversity. Oleh itu saya berharap inisiatif HoB dapat menyokong usaha pemuliharaan hutan di negeri ini.

“Pelaksanaan inisiatif ini mengambil kira sensitiviti dan budaya tempatan dan berpegang teguh kepada dasar dan undang-undang sedia ada.

“Saya gembira melihat inisiatif HoB telah memupuk hubungan baik di kalangan agensi kerajaan dan rakan kongsi seperti Tabung Hidupan Liar Sedunia (WWF) Malaysia, Sime Darby Bhd, Majlis Minyak Sawit Malaysia, HSBC, New Forests Asia (Singapore) Pte.Ltd dan organisasi bukan kerajan seperti Land Environment Animal People (LEAP),” katanya.

5,000 gather at Padang Merdeka to say no to Drug

The clarion call against drugs was loud and clear as Padang Merdeka was emblazoned with a sea of red volunteers rallying against drugs for the IM4U campaign, led by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.

“With a healthy body and an active mind, imbued with self-belief and patriotic spirit, you can conquer anything,” he told youths when launching the 1 Malaysia for Youth program (IM4U) and 1 Malaysia Squad today.

The IM4U program, which was launched by Prime Minister Najib Razak on July 15, is a government led campaign which strives to nurture the spirit of volunteerism among the nation’s 12.5 million youths. To date, Sabah has 19, 474 members of 1Malaysia Squad.

At the heart of the campaign is the “We want peace, no drugs please” message, a rallying call to youths and the community at large to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to join the fight against all manner of social menace in society.

Dr Yee, who is also Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, said he was confident that the IM4U campaign was able to promote volunteerism among youths and channel their energy towards healthy activities. He said the government wants youths to play their part in society by being volunteers or counsellors to help turn around those involved with drug problems and other social problems.

The youth rally generated great interest and excitement, as the Sunday crowds in the city joined volunteers in the festive atmosphere. There was a good range of activities to keep every one entertained, including live music from local artists and the lively Zumba dance.

Give blood to save lives - Musa

Donate blood. This is the call Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman made to all Sabahans at a blood donation drive yesterday.

"I urge everyone to come forward and donate blood. By donating blood, even once in our lifetime, we may have saved someone's life without realising it," he said.

The blood donation drive held at Centre Point in Kota Kinabalu yesterday is a collaborative initiative between the Barisan National (BN) Sabah Youth Movement and the UMNO Sabah Puteri wing, which brought together more than 200 members of the public to donate blood. The blood donation drive will run for six months in 42 locations covering 25 UMNO divisions.

With the theme "A Drop of Blood Means a Lot," the campaign hopes to assist the Ministry of Health in collecting 2000 pints of blood by the end of 2012. The campaign also aims to increase awareness among Sabahans on the importance of donating blood.

According to Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, the Ministry hopes to achieve a ratio of 50 blood donors to every 1000 population, as compared to the current situation at 22 blood donors to every 1000 population.

According to Rosnah, the numbers are rising. There were 62, 643 blood donors in 2010 as compared  to 66, 231 in 2011, an increase of 3588 donors.

However, she said that there are times when reserve in the blood bank runs dangerously low because  fewer donors come forward to give their blood, especially during the festive season, school holidays, and public holidays.

RM300 mln for youth development in 2013

The Sabah Government has set aside RM300 million in the 2013 state budget for implementation of various youth development programmes.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said state ministries which received funds from the allocation included Youth and Sports, Resource Development and Information Technology, and Agriculture and Food Industry.

“The allocation is aimed at helping youths progress through training and acquiring skills, among others,” he said at a blood donation campaign organised by the Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah Youth and Umno Sabah Puteri at Palm Square, Centre Point here yesterday.

Musa hoped youths in Sabah would not let themselves be hoodwinked by the opposition which claimed to fight for their interests but were actually, trying to score political mileage.

Meanwhile, the blood donation campaign themed, ‘A Drop of Blood means a Lot’, would be held for four months in 25 Umno divisions.

State ministry provides 76 spots to 1Azam candidates

The Sabah Youth and Sports Ministry provided 76 out of 120 places of the Spa Apprenticeship Course to potential participants under the 1AZAM programme.

According to Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim, to qualify for the course, the participants' parents must be registered and listed with the e-Kasih system.

An initiative of the Low-Income Households (LIH) NKRA under the GTP, the 1AZAM programme is coordinated in Sabah by the Agriculture and Food Industries ministry.

Jahid, represented by his deputy permanent secretary Haji Awang Damit, was at the graduation ceremony for 23 participants who completed their Spa and Therapy Complementary course conducted by Jari Jari Spa Training Academy.

The LIH NKRA findings showed that there was a shortage of skilled workers, in particular, low number of local workers and training facilities for the spa therapist's position.

RCI on Sabah illegals to start on Jan 14

The five-man panel of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Sabah's illegal immigrant problem will start its public hearing on Jan 14.

The panel has so far identified 48 witnesses to testify at the hearing that will be held at the Kota Kinabalu High Court.

Panel head Tan Sri Steve Shim Lip Kiong, a former chief judge of Borneo, said the panel met yesterday to finalise the witness list and (look at) their relevance in the inquiry.

It was their first meeting since their royal appointment on Sept 21.

The other members of the panel include former Universiti Malaysia Sabah vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kamaruzaman Ampon and former Sabah deputy chief minister and state attorney-general Tan Sri Herman Luping.

The others are former state secretary Datuk K.Y. Mustafa and Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation president Datuk Henry Chin.

The secretary of the panel is Datuk Saripuddin Kasim, who is secretary-general of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.

Asked if they would be able to complete the probe within six months from their appointment date, Shim said: “We will try to complete the job by March 21, though there are provisions under the terms for us to request for an extension.”

Guna BR1M sebaiknya, kata Ellron

Pembantu Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitarm, Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin menasihatkan golongan muda yang bakal menerima Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) musim kedua supaya menggunakan bantuan itu dengan sebaik-baiknya.

Katanya, BR1M musim kedua yang turut membabitkan golongan muda (bujang) ini adalah bukti keprihatinan Kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) membantu rakyat pelbagai lapisan di negara ini.

Ellron yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) Sook berkata, pemberian BR1M musim pertama disifatkan oleh beberapa pihak bahawa itu ada untuk memancing undi tetapi terbukti pada tahun lalu tiada pilihan raya diadakan.

“Justeru itu pada tahun ini BR1M diberikan lagi dengan penambaikan yang turut melibatkan golonngan muda berumur 21 tahun ke atas” katanya ketika diminta mengulas pemberian BR1M kepada golongan muda selepas merasmikan Kejohanan Balapan dan Padang MSS Zon Pegalan di Kompleks Sukan di sini kelmarin.

Beliau berkata, BR1M musim kedua ini perlu dimanfaatkan oleh golongan muda termasuk Ketua Isi Rumah yang akan memerima kali kedua agar bantuan berbentuk wang tunai itu digunakan bagi meringankan bebanan kewangan masing-masing.

“Gunakanlah kewangan yang diterima untuk membeli barang-barang keperluan yang berguna kepada keluarga dan individu bagi golongan bujang” katanya.

Musa: Women play role in Sabah’s progress

The State government is committed through the implementation of various initiatives to ensure that women continue to play an important role.

Among the initiatives are enhancing the support system as well as providing training and facilities to enable more women to contribute towards boosting the economy of Sabah and the country.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman said this at the launch of the State-level Women’s Day celebration here last night.

Musa, who is also Finance Minister, added that women played a role in the progress of the State.

“In fact, they have a strong influence on the economy, social and politics of a country. As such the Women’s Day celebration annually is a form of recognition and appreciation of the contributions by all women, especially Sabah,” Musa said.

He said the theme “Wanita Pencetus Ekonomi Baru” clearly reflected the high hopes of the government on women’s capability to contribute to the national economy and to make Malaysia a high-income nation by 2020.

“Today, the ability of women in helming government departments and corporate firms show they too are capable of carrying important tasks if given the opportunity.

Sabah wants KKIA problems sorted out

The Sabah Cabinet wants airport operator Malaysia Airports Bhd (MAB) to resolve any problem at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the state Cabinet had explicitly told senior MAB officials that incidents such as the recent blackout of KKIA runway lights must never recur.

“We are extremely concerned that this incident resulted in the suffering of some 6,000 passengers. This is not good for the government, Sabah and MAB,” he said following the weekly Cabinet meeting here yesterday.

At the meeting, Musa and other state ministers were briefed by MAB chairman Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid and its senior general manager Datuk Azmi Murad about the failure of KKIA runway lights last Thursday and until 10pm the next day that disrupted night flight operations at the nations second busiest airport.

K'jaan negeri terus sokong DBP jayakan pelbagai program

Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Musa Aman berkata, ini selaras dengan tema sambutan Bulan Bahasa Kebangsaan iaitu “1Bahasa, 1Bangsa, 1Negara”.

“Dalam konteks sambutan Bulan Bahasa Kebangsaan ini, saya yakin ia merupakan satu pendekatan yang signifikan untuk terus menyemarakkan rasa kecintaan dan kemegahan rakyat Malaysia khususnya golongan muda terhadap bahasa kebangsaan.

“Semangat cinta akan bahasa kebangsaan perlu disemai secara kreatif dan terus-menerus agar rakyat sentiasa memartabatkan bahasa Melayu sebagai unsur penting dalam pembentukan tamadun bangsa Malaysia,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian ketika melancarkan Bulan Bahasa Kebangsaan 2012 peringkat Negeri dan Pelepasan Konvoi Kembara Bahasa, di Wisma Innoprise, di sini, kelmarin.

Turut hadir, Timbalan Ketua Menteri Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin, Menteri Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar Datuk Masidi Manjun, Menteri Pembangunan Masyarakat dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri merangkap Pengerusi Sambutan Bulan Kebangsaan Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Ketua Pengarah DBP Dr.Awang Sariyan dan Pengarah DBP Cawangan Sabah Jamaluddin Mohd Sulong.

Musa berkata, kerajaan negeri juga sentiasa mengalu-alukan pelbagai usaha dan inisiatif DBP dalam memartabatkan bahasa Melayu sebagai bahasa kebangsaan, sekaligus menjadikannya sebagai citra bangsa Malaysia yang mempunyai jati diri dan kekuatan sendiri.
