BONGAWAN: Kimanis Barisan Nasional (BN) Chief Datuk Seri Anifah Aman is optimistic of winning the Kimanis parliamentary seat and its two State seats in the May 5 general election.

He said the BN election machinery has been fully prepared since several months ago to face the crucial election.

"I see that there is no huge problem that needs to be addressed as the people, especially the voters, are strongly supporting BN to continue its mandate here to serve their needs and interests.

"In fact, majority of the people in the three seats know how to assess and differentiate between a stone and gem," he said.

Anifah, who is also Kimanis Umno divisional chief, said this to reporters after chairing a meeting of the Kimanis election machinery at the BN operation room in Kg Nibung, here.

Also present were Kimanis Umno divisional deputy chief, Datuk Karim Bujang, vice chief Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, Wanita Umno chief Maznah Ghani, Youth chief Mohammad Alamin, Puteri chief Saudah Norzaman, Upko Kimanis division chief Tailin Minion and party members.

Anifah, who is also incumbent Kimanis MP, said many of the voters remember, value and appreciate the contributions of the BN government to them.

He said many realised that BN is a capable government to deliver and cater to their needs based on a good track record of its performance.

Anifah said he is impressed with their election workers especially those involved in networking work known as 'Jalinan Rakyat' (JR) where they have worked hard meeting the grassroots in all villages and going from house to house.

"We did not discuss who will be the candidates in the May 5 polls because what is more important is the preparation and hard work of the election workers and continued confidence of the people in BN that will make us win in the May 5 election.

"We will work hard for whoever is selected by the top leadership as BN candidates and ensure they win with a huge victory," he said.
