Sabahans are grateful for having Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as Prime
Minister of Malaysia, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
He said Sabahans recognised Najib’s exemplary leadership, commitment and sincerity in addressing issues faced by the people.
More
importantly, he added, his ability and readiness to listen to the
grouses and wants of the people in the State are appreciated.
“In
his every visit, in all divisions anywhere in Sabah, the reception is
always warm. People from all races throng to show their support and tens
of thousands gather just to welcome him.
“Why? Because we are
very grateful to have a prime minister who is truly a people’s leader
and very concerned towards our welfare and interests,” he said in his
welcoming remarks at the ‘Jelajah Janji Ditepati Sabah’ launched by
Najib yesterday.
Musa said the recently tabled 2013 Budget was
another proof of Najib’s commitment to bring development to Sabah and
improve the living quality of its people.
He noted various
allocations were included under the budget specifically for Sabah, among
others, the fund for reducing the cost of daily goods and setting up
more Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) in the state, in addition to many
other schemes that were also implemented in other parts of the country
such as the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) 2.0.
“He also
announced funding for developing Kota Belud as a rice granary. Many from
Sabah will also receive various 1Malaysia assistances, such as the
special allowance and book vouchers for students.
“The PM also
made good on his promise to help taxi drivers through Bantuan Tayar
Teksi Rakyat 1Malaysia (TR1MA). The PM comes to the ground to listen to
the people, and when BN leaders meet the people we don’t come to give
empty promises and then disappear like the opposition.
“While they
only make promises, we already delivered ours. Of course there are
still some that has not been given yet, but good willing we will fulfil
them one by one,” he said.
The event held at the district sports
complex attracted at least 50,000 visitors, some from as far as Semporna
according to the organisers.
Various government and private
agencies open their exhibition booths while local artistes and
entertainers entertained their fans and visitors at the event.
The
Chief Minister in his speech also said BN recognise Kudat for its
unwavering solid support towards the government and will continue to
work hard to bring development to the district.
Known for its
beautiful beach and colourful tradition and culture, he said Kudat has a
lot of economic potential, especially in the tourism sector.
“Sabah
will continue to prosper and develop under the capable leadership of
BN, and this will include Kudat. Let us together ensure BN can continue
leading the government and its good work in bringing progress for us
all,” he said.
