Kampung Binowou Tengah grateful to govt for constructing new bridge

The residents from seven villages around Kg Binowou, Keningau have expressed their gratitude for the concern shown by the government to build a new semi-concrete bridge to replace the old bridge, which was made of round logs, to facilitate the users who are mostly farmers.

JKKK chairman of Kg Binowou Tengah said:


  • The bridge has enabled the farmers to transport their crops for which the villagers are very grateful as it has spurred them to redouble efforts in agriculture.
  • The villagers are pleased that the government has attended to their needs although they are some distance away from town and besides that the villagers will also be receiving piped water supply presently being under taken by the contractors. 
  • The village has received electricity supply two years ago. The estimated number of villagers is 500 people.
  • In term of welfare the government has built two homes under the Housing Assistance Project (PBR) to target groups.
  • The villagers have also heeded the government's call where they have established a cooperative participated by the villagers in efforts to uplift their standard of living.

The government is really determined to see change and progress in the area. The robust development undergoing in Sook have demonstrated that the committed local leaders can bring change and development the people.

  10. yup.. but there are still many bridge that really need to be replaced with concrete bridge in all kampong in Sabah..
