LAHAD DATU, March 18 (Bernama) -- A computer tomography (CT) scan centre will be built in Lahad Datu Hospital soon.
Medical Development Department director Datuk Dr Azmi Shafie said the
construction of the centre costing RM2.48 million was expected to be
completed before the end of the year.
"The Health Ministry is committed to improving health services and facilities in all hospitals.
"The CT scan service is required at Lahad Datu Hospital to diagnose
patients as the nearest hospital with CT scan is very far away," he told
reporters after attending a meeting between the Health Ministry and the
contractor coordinating the project here Monday.
He also said the hospital also received three new ambulances which were delivered today.
There are currently six CT scan centres in Sabah, three in Kota Kinabalu and one each in Keningau, Tawau and Sandakan.
