TAWAU: Seventy pints of blood were collected in the first-quarter of the Holy Trinity Church blood donation drive yesterday which marked another successful drive to get parishioners to donate their blood for a good cause. Tawau Red Crescent chapter chairman Pang Pak Chung said the blood types collected were A+ (16 pints), B+ (12), AB+ (4), O+ (38). “Eighty-four person registered to donate their blood and 70 were successful. Those rejected were due to health reasons or on medication,” he said yesterday. The blood donation drive is held every three months at the Holy Trinity Hall and members of the public are also welcomed to donate their blood which is held on Sunday morning. Pang thanked QL Farms for sponsoring chicken eggs, Rich Inspirations Sdn Bhd for sponsoring soya and tomato sauce food products, Holy Trinity Church for sponsoring health drink. The Red Crescent sponsored the food and drinks and certificates to blood donors.
