Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman has urged people in the Interior to come out in full force to welcome Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor during their visit on June 16-17.
“This is an opportunity for people from Keningau, Tambunan, Nabawan, Sook, Kemabong and Tenom to meet our beloved Prime Minister up close,” said Musa after visiting sites in Tambunan, Sook and the Sabah Handicraft Centre here yesterday.
His visit started in Tambunan and proceeded to Sook and Keningau in order to inspect the progress of preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit in those three locations.
In Tambunan, he was given a briefing and later visited the site where the Prime Minister will meet the people and the location of the groundbreaking ceremony for the KDM College (Kadazan Dusun Murut College).
He then proceeded to Sook and watched a full dress rehearsal of the Prime Minister’s welcome at the Sabah Handicraft Centre here.
Musa said people in the Interior are surely happy to receive their beloved leader and is therefore confident that they will come in droves to attend the official opening of the Sabah Handicraft Centre on June 16 followed by the groundbreaking ceremony of the Keningau Integrated Livestock Centre in Sook and later at night, the National-level Kaamatan Open House celebration at the Keningau Sports Complex.
On June 17, the Prime Minister will go on a walkabout at the Keningau Tamu Grounds and then visit the Rumah Besar OKK Sodomon before leaving for Tambunan.
“I hope all will run smoothly and many will come to attend these events,” said Musa.
Those who accompanied Musa were Deputy Chief Ministers Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin, Minister of Tourism, Culture & Environment Datuk Masidi Manjun, Assistant Minister of Rural Development Datuk Haji Sairin Karno, Assistant Minister of Agriculture & Food Industry Datuk Bobbey Ahfang Suan, State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman, Yayasan Sabah director Tan Sri Datu Khalil Datu Jamalul, Keningau district officer Amat Mohd Yusof, Bingkor Assemblyman Datuk Justin Guka, Kemabong Assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang, heads of government departments as well as other Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders.
