KK: Crime index down 13.29% in first six months

The crime index in the state capital dropped 13.29% in the first six months of this year as compared to the same period last year. State Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said the percentage represent a decrease of 427 cases out of 2,785 cases recorded this year as compared to 3,212 cases recorded in 2011.

“Street crime cases have also declined to about 52.07% while solved cases at 41.08%.

“Statistics show an improvement in the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to reduce crime rates in Sabah,” he said at the monthly police gathering at the Sabah police headquarters in Kepayan here yesterday.

Also present were state deputy commissioner of police SAC II Datuk Tan Kok Liang, Special Branch head Datuk Syed Ahmad Syed Hassan and Crime Investigation Department chief SAC Omar Mammah. Hamza also reminded all police officers and personnel to continue to work closely with other enforcement agencies on crime prevention in the country.

He said only through such good working relationships could the Royal Malaysia Police achieve their objectives in keeping the country safe from crimes.

He also called on the public to continue to give their full cooperation with the police and other enforcement agencies to combat crimes in and around their areas.

  2. Inilah hasil peningkatan kesedaran dan penguatkuasaan untuk mengurangkan kadar jenayah. statistik yang berikutnya biarlah turun lagi.

    1. Pihak berkuasa telah bertungkus lumus bekerja untuk membanteras jenayah sehingga kadar jenayah berkurangan.

  7. macam mana sekalipun penurunan berdasarkan statistik, itu bukanlah jaminan bahawa kita tidak perlu lagi berhati2 atau menyimpan rasa was2 dimana jua kita berada.. jenayah boleh berlaku dimana2 dan pada bila2 masa..

  8. apa2pun syabas kepada kerajaan kerana berjaya mengurangkan kes jenayah di negara ini.. saya harap, penurunan ini akan terus berlaku di masa2 akan datang..
