Sabah had a total of 22,119 active business organisations in 2010, according to the 2011 Economic Census Report. Chief Statistician Dr Abdul Rahman Hasan said of this figure, 18,047 or
81.6% were in the services sector, 1,443 (6.5%) in
manufacturing, 1,284 (5.8%) in construction, 1,311 (5.9%) in agriculture and 34 (0.2%t) in mining and quarrying.
