Abandoned Nabawan mini hospital to recommence construction in June

Construction of Nabawan district health type four clinic which was abandoned last year will recommence in June and upgraded into a mini hospital costing approximately RM40m.

" The upgrading of the type four clinic into mini hospital will benefit the more than 32,000 people in district" said Minister of Health Dato' Sri Liow Tiong Lai.

He said the construction of the district health type four clinic  could not be completed last year because the appointed construction work as required.

"However, residents in this district can now sigh with relief when construction recommences and the clinic gets upgrade into a mini hospital" he said during a working visit to hospital.

"Following the upgrading into a mini hospital, obviously its facilities will also increase along with the number of doctors and staff" he said.

He said the construction of the mini hospital by a reliable developer is expected to be completed within 15 months.

Liow is urging all parties, especially government departments and agencies concerned to ensure construction can be completed on schedule.

Meanwhile, at the Keningau Hospital, the health minister approved the purchase of an ultrasound machine worth RM400,000 and four haemodialysis machines worth about RM160,000 to increase the hospital's range of facilities.

  8. Having equipped hospital is one of the basic influcture required of the State especially in rural areas. Also Qualified doctors and nurses should not be compromised too.
