Ministry giving talks on minimum wage

Employers in Sabah are encouraged to contact the Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry if they require clarification and help in the implementation of minimum wage.

Its minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai said the Government has been organising talks and programmes to disseminate information on the RM800 minimum wage implementation.

“We have even organised talks in Mandarin to help local Chinese-speaking business communities gain some input on the matter and let them know that it is already in place and it is only a matter of time for it to be fully implemented,” he said.

Yee stressed the need for employers to be fully informed on the issue, so those requiring more information on the matter should feel free to contact the ministry.

He said Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam’s recently announced that the Government was ready to assist employers in implementing the minimum wage as smoothly as possible, such as the grace period that small sectors can enjoy, among others.

Meanwhile, Yee said the Government has been working continuously on ways to resolve unemployment issues, and is mindful of ‘unsaleable’ sectors that are in need of employees.

ICT: Taman-Taman Sabah mahu bertaraf dunia

Penggunaan aplikasi Komunikasi dan Teknologi Maklumat (ICT) memainkan peranan penting kepada hala tuju Taman-Taman Sabah (TTS), kata Pengarahnya Paul Basintal. Beliau berkata ia selari dengan usaha agensi itu yang mahu menjadi model pengurusan kawasan terlindung bertaraf dunia pada masa akan datang.

Katanya penggunaan ICT secara meluas akan memastikan TTS terus relevan dan mampu bersaing dengan agensi lain.

Yee: Women Are Not Left Out Of ICT Mainstream

About 48%of internet users in the country are women, which shows that they are not left out from the information and communication technology (ICT) mainstream, said Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai. He said the statistics showed that opportunities in the ICT sector were not only limited to the men "because women too could raise their socio-economic standard with the internet access provided whether in the urban or rural areas".

Lebih 30 warga emas tamatkan Kem Komputer 2011

  Warga emas juga tidak ketinggalan dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan dalam ICT.

Lebih 30 warga emas dalam lingkungan umur 55 tahun ke atas dari sekitar KK berjaya menamatkan Kem Komputer untuk Golongan Senior 2011 anjuran Sabah Computer Society (SCS) dan Unit Kemajuan IT Negeri, Kementerian Pembangunan Sumber dan Kemajuan Teknologi Maklumat. 

  Program sempena bulan ICT Negeri 2011 bertemakan 'Sumber Terbuka, Internet dan Anda' telah dikendali oleh 2 peramah yang diundang khas iaitu Vassilis Legakis dari Silicon Valley dan Ra Delina Patail yang merupakan pengurusan Penasihat IT di KPMG, KL. 

Kem tersebut terbahagi kepada 2 bahagian iaitu:

• Trek 1 : 'Sumber Terbuka' khas untuk pengguna IT yang semakin meningkat.
• Trek 2 : 'Internet dan Anda' khas untuk pengguna IT yang baru

Majlis penutupan program dan penyampaian sijil kepada para peserta disempurnakan oleh Menteri Sumber dan Kemajuan Teknologi Maklumat Sabah Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai. Dalam ucapan Datuk Dr Yee, beliau menasihat agar para golongan dewasa tidak mensia-siakan peluang yang diberi kerajaan untuk menigkatkan ilmu dalam bidang IT.
