KOTA KINABALU: The Election Commission (EC) office here has issued a total of 621 nomination forms for the 13th general election (GE13).
Sabah EC deputy director (operations) Abdul Manap Ali Omar said of the forms issued, 188 were for parliamentary and 433 state seats.
“Representatives of political parties began collecting the forms since April 4 after parliament and the state assembly were dissolved,” he said after presenting the writ to 26 returning officers in Sabah and Labuan at the EC office here today.
The EC had set nomination day on April 20 and polling day on May 5.
Abdul Manap said a total of 17,686 officers had been appointed to facilitate the general election in Sabah and Labuan.
They include returning officers, assistant returning officers, election assistants, election clerks, campaign enforcement officers, police escorts, drivers and manual workers.
A total of 1,006,288 people in Sabah and Labuan are eligible to vote in GE13.
Sabah has 25 parliamentary constituencies.
