Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman believes the people of
Sabah have full confidence in the Barisan Nasional government’s handling
of the Lahad Datu intrusion and will not affect the coalition’s winning
chances in the upcoming election.
“We in Sabah always support the
(Barisan Nasional) government because we know very well that we have a
government that carries out its responsibility well. And seeing the
government’s handling of the current (Lahad Datu) situation, we have
full trust and confidence in the government and security forces,” said
Musa when asked whether the incident will affect the BN’s chances in the
upcoming election.
Speaking to reporters after officiating and
flagging off the Himpunan Patriotik Belia Sabah at Lintasan Deasoka here
yesterday, Musa slammed the opposition for showing its impotence in
regard to the Lahad Datu intrusion incident.
The opposition, he said,
only know how to criticize the government and its leaders but have
failed to prove their capabilities during times of crisis.
“The
opposition, including one irresponsible opposition leader’s accusation
about the intrusion being Umno’s masquerade, only know how to condemn
the government. But when our country faces challenges like what we are
facing now, they remain silent instead of supporting the government’s
actions,” Musa commented.
