Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman yesterday said the State
Government fully supported the operation launched by Malaysian security
forces against the armed intruders in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu.
Musa
told a press conference in Seri Gaya, yesterday that Malaysia had no
choice but to use force to evict the intruders comprising the so-called
‘royal army’ of the self-proclaimed sultan of Sulu Jamalul Kiram III.
According to Musa, the Malaysian Government had tried various ways to resolve the matter without any bloodshed.
“But
the intruders were adamant about staying in Sabah and their refusal to
leave had resulted in the loss of our security personnel’s lives,” Musa
who is also the State Security Council chairman, said.
He also
reiterated that the State Government and all Malaysians in Sabah are
praying for the safety and success of the country’s security forces in
defending Malaysia’s sovereignty.
