Budget 2013 – what do we want and what can we afford?

BUDGET 2013 has been one of the most difficult to design and to present to the people and Parliament. I’ve done this many times before, so I think I know!
This budget is crucial for many reasons. First, we are facing global economic decline and considerable uncertainty that can adversely affect our socio-economic outlook.
Second, the 13th general election is imminent. People and voters want and think they can get more from this budget. Third, more so now, there is a major conflict between two perennial budget issues – what people want and what we can afford.

Budget 2013 wishes for Keningau

Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Haji Sairin Karno hoped Budget 2013 could bring big impact on the socio-economic development in the district.

“The projects that I mean include asking the government to upgrade the district police training that had been so long neglected,” he told reporters after presenting 1Malaysia water tanks to 24 people from Liawan, yesterday.

In addition, he said a paved highway from Keningau-Sook Tenom and Nabawan, Kalabakan-Sepulut, and Sinua-Lalampas-Tongod Road should be implemented to provide comfort and enhance the rural economy.

Achieving Budget People Support Needed

Sabah CM Datuk Musa Aman and also Finance Minister said that the State Budget 2012 can be achieved with full support of the Sabahans and politic stability. The large amount will benefit all the Sabahans in Sabah, whether those in the rural or urban areas and is expected to have great positive impact on the growth of the domestic economy. 

He also wants Muslim in Sabah to transform towards a more meaningful life that is better in all aspects including faith, and moral standards. The Muslims need to change their mindset to be more creative and innovative in accordance with current developments. The Sabahans should also strive to use the diversity in the society to transform these noble values as a platform to strengthen the prevailing unity.   

In the context of state development, CM Datuk Musa Aman said that the state government will stress particularly on economic transformation to achieve sustainable growth. The large amount of 2012 budgeting shown that government's high commitment to bring holistic change to the development landscape in Sabah. Also with that large amount shown that government really want to improve the Sabahans's quality of life.    

So, to achieve the Sabah 2012 budget Sabahans need to support state government's transformation plan. Then, lets support the plan. Hoping all Sabahans (Ori Only) can enjoying the budget.
